Discover Machu Picchu in 2026 with Reduced Prices: Special Rates for Peruvians and Foreigners All Year Round

If you’ve been dreaming of visiting Machu Picchu in 2026 , this is your perfect opportunity. The National Service of Protected Natural Areas (SERNANP) has announced exclusive promotional rates for access to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu , one of the seven wonders of the modern world and a must-see destination on any trip to Peru.

The new rates will be in effect throughout 2026 and are designed to promote sustainable tourism and ensure that more people, both Peruvians and foreigners, can experience the unique experience of touring this archaeological gem.

🎫Promotional Rates to Visit Machu Picchu in 2026

According to Chief Resolution No. 000004-2025-SERNANP/SHMPI-SGD , published in the official newspaper El Peruano , the following prices will apply from January 1 to December 31, 2026 :

  • Adult foreign tourists (18 years and older): S/ 11.00

  • Foreign tourists under 3 to 17 years old: S/ 5.00

  • Adult national visitors: S/ 5.00

  • Peruvian children and adolescents (3 to 17 years): S/ 3.00

These fees represent a historic reduction in the cost of entry to Machu Picchu , and are part of a national plan to democratize access to Peru’s cultural and natural heritage.

🆓Free Sundays for Cusco Residents

As part of the drive to boost local tourism in the Cusco region , Sundays in 2026 will be free access to Machu Picchu for residents of the department. All visitors need to present their ID with a Cusco address to enjoy this benefit.

📘Responsible and Accessible Tourism: A National Policy

The initiative is based on Article 34 of the General Tourism Law (Law No. 29408) , which promotes the implementation of promotional rates in protected natural areas, with the aim of strengthening domestic tourism and ensuring more equitable access to Peru’s historical and cultural sites.

🌄Machu Picchu 2026: More Accessible, More Sustainable

With this measure, SERNANP and the Government of Peru reinforce their commitment to the reactivation of national and international tourism , prioritizing inclusive access to Machu Picchu. The expectation is that this policy will not only increase the number of visitors but also boost the economies of local communities and promote a responsible tourism model.
